Rules/Code of Conduct
Honour all players conduct themselves with Honour and integrity, placing these values above "winning".
While the Honourable SAAPA member strives to be an effective and deadly soldier, winning is always secondary to the enjoyment of the game, the camaraderie, physical exercise, teamwork, marksmanship, and field craft skills. Honesty: A SAAPA member does not cheat in any manner at any time. Each and every SAAPA member understands that any suspected or confirmed instance of cheating or less than sportsman like conduct is grounds for sanctions, including dismissal from the operation and/or dishonourable discharge from SAAPA ranks.
Fair Equipment:
Our weapons will not chronograph greater than 1.5 Joules of kinetic energy. (400fps with .20g projectile). Respect of Rules and Rank Every SAAPA member strives to act his role within the prescribed re-enactment scenario and format; faithfully executing all rules, commands from superiors, and protocols. Non-Violence the SAAPA member will never resort to physical violence of any kind. Should any SAAPA member ever do so, he or she will be immediately dishonourably discharged from the SAAPA ranks.
No Close Shots
A SAAPA member will always call for surrender. Eliminating an opponent without a shot is the highest achievement on the battlefield. When called upon to surrender, players will always comply. The SAAPA member never shoots within a 5m radius of an enemy.
Clean Language
The SAAPA member never uses any profanity during a game, and reminds other participants of this rule when profanity is heard. Players are a Resource. all players are helpful and friendly to new or inexperienced operators, never critical, recognizing that the safe future of modern airsoft games, and the Airsoft field itself, is dependent upon every participant having a good time, and taking positive impressions home at the end of the operation.
Consideration for Others
The SAAPA member’s approach to an airsoft game is "Treat others the way you would want them to treat you". Operators who apply this philosophy generate positive "vibes" which spread to everyone at the OP, maximizing the "fun factor."
Rules of Engagement
We certainly do not glorify war. If anything, our operations have taught us to abhor real combat. The only factors we are re-creating are the tactical and historical components, which also provide that sustained rush of adrenaline, and that intense feeling of suspense, exciting action. Since our operations are based on historical incidents, we strive to create an educational and theatrical experience where each of us is acting out a part. We get a tiny feeling of how it might have felt for "the real guys on the line".
Disciplinary action:
Those who bring the sport of airsoft into disrepute are subject to disciplinary action.
Process:
- Verbal warning and consultation with offender with chance for defence
- Offender given written warning, together with written statements from accusers with a chance to meet accusers and give defence within neutral setting.
- Should punishment be necessary, offender is provided with there punishment verbally as well as in writing together with the minutes taken from hearing.
